What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal Medicine A herbal practitioner qualified by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists is highly trained to treat a wide variety of health problems using plant remedies which are naturally balanced and come from all over the world. They are safe and free from dangerous side-effects. Self-medication is not advisable; after accurate diagnosis a herbalist can give every patient a prescription individually tailored to their needs which aims to stimulate the body's natural healing mechanisms, treating not only the outward symptoms but also their underlying causes.

People have always used the healing potential of plants; a wealth of knowledge has been accumulated over time which is now being augmented by current biological research.
